Date: 2013-02-14 08:42 pm (UTC)Dear Romeo,
Happy Valentines Day! I'm happy to see that your studies are coming along nicely. Hopefully we can keep being friends.
And don't worry about the chocolate! It's fine to eat, really. Not all candy is terrible. It hasn't been poisoned by a witch.
If you ever need my help with anything, let me know, alright?
Your friend,
Tohko Amano, the book girl.

Thank you for helping Yotsuba! Daddy and Jumbo were just enchanted, so it's okay! They didn't mean it after all! They're gone now, so the bad people must have hidden them again, but that's okay! We'll find them soon!
From,
Yotsuba Koiwai!

Date: 2013-12-14 10:09 pm (UTC)If you say strongest hero, I might have to say myself. But for the best hero, I would say people like Diarmuid and the White Saber and Lancelot.
Diarmuid because he's a gentle and caring big brother. He's always ready to take responsibility for protecting others. And he's strong too. You should see him dual wield.
Saber of White because she's an inspiration to Diarmuid. I knew Saber of Black better, so I think Saber of White might be stuffier. But anyone who can impress Diarmuid with their honor can't be too bad.
Lancelot is a great knight too. He was one of the best knights in his own time. Also, he's a good friend.
And then there's Enoch! He's always working to help others, whether by protecting them or making them cloaks. And he's got a cool weapon.

Date: 2013-12-14 10:26 pm (UTC)I'd have to say that some good heroes in the tower are Rick Dawn and this woman named Merciless.
Rick can turn into all these different kinds of animals to do stuff. He's really nice and will always help you out if you need it. He's one of the best people in the tower in my opinion.
And Merciless was a fighter from a very bad world. She kept going and never gave up, and even though she's gone, she's still a hero in my book.
[A trail of scribbled out words go on for a bit before, at the bottom:]
I guess I could be called a hero too. I'm a bodyguard that protects people from bad things, and I saved a few lives in my time here.
Good luck with your book,
Veronica Madaraki

Date: 2013-12-15 12:37 am (UTC)I received your letter. I think your dedication to preserving the history of those in this tower is very admirable. I'd like to contribute a few names, though I think you've probably heard most of them already.
There was a Link that came and went from this place a few times. He was rather quiet, but talented with a bow. More than once, he came to my aid in dire times, though I had never done anything to merit the kindness. He was a true hero, even though he did not see himself as such.
Of course, there is also Princess Zelda. It is not my place to make explicit her struggles, but it is obvious that the burden that has been placed upon her shoulders is a great one. She has handled everything with the utmost grace and dignity, even when what needed to be done wasn't the most pleasant of tasks. She has come well into her royal bloodline and deserves to be remembered as a hero.
There was a young girl named Sayaka Miki. She was in our group for that large competition over a year ago now. Perhaps she is not the most conventional of heroes, but her unfaltering defiance in the face of what the administrators have done to us makes her a hero in my eyes.
I'm not sure what kind of a man I'd be without writing of April Sinclair. She comes from a world where her nation is in ruin. However, before she came here, she was working hard to restore it. It is no small task, rebuilding a civilisation from ash and dust without losing yourself in the process. She is a true woman of her country.
While speaking of women of their countries, I would also like to give mention to Ruler. She is not mine to speak of; completely the opposite, if I'm to be honest. But her devotion to her nation is not something I can overlook. She deserves to be remembered as a hero for what she has done.
I recall that you have been here quite a long time, Romeo. Perhaps you knew another I wish to speak of. His name is America, just the same as the little America that's with us now. I'm not certain how long the big America was here; he arrived before I did, it seemed. He's been gone for a while now, but I know that if he were here, he would be doing everything within his stupid excess of power to save everyone. And I also know he would appreciate being recorded as a hero in any regard.
On that note, I think it's only proper that I mention the other Americas I've met; they were women, and they went by the name Amelia. I didn't know either of them nearly as well, but I'm confident that they were much the same in their strength and determination.
Truthfully, Romeo, I'd like you to also include yourself in this book. There is something to be said for wishing to pay respect to every soul lost from this tower, and having the inspiration to compile the memoir. Thank you for your efforts.
[The letter isn't signed, predictably.]

Date: 2013-12-15 12:43 am (UTC)Hello, Romeo.
There is a man on my world, who has worked all his life to please another. I believe he has been here.
If he has not, then maybe in the future. The heros of our lost worlds are important too.
He has never given up, never hesitated. Nobody sings his praises. Nobody likes being around him.
But he keeps trying.
It doesn't matter what happens to him. It doesn't matter what fate awaits him. He doesn't understand the idea of giving up. Not about this precious goal of his.
He prefers to be known as a rose, so that is all the name I will give him.
He will not be remembered, except perhaps by me.
He is one of the greatest heros my world has ever seen, and none will ever know it.

Date: 2013-12-15 01:38 am (UTC)The greatest of all the heroes in the Tower is the beautiful, elegant, kind, good, wise, and blessed Jeanne d'Arc. She is also known as Joan of Arc, I have heard, and she is a saint! God himself spoke to her, and the angels, for her goodness so inspired them. Oh gracious, dear, and matchless Jeanne!
Though she was only a simple peasant girl, she joined the court of the king of France and fought to save her people from the cruel, oppressive English who had taken our lands. Not even the king knew what to do, but she showed him the way. She dressed like a boy and she took up arms, and she was the most beautiful sight anyone had ever seen. No one who saw her ever forgot the sight of her, proud and glowing, like an angel herself! She shone with the light of Heaven. She rode out into battle, yet she did no one harm! She was wounded, but she carried on! She is a noble, brave, fearless, soul, but gentle. She led the knights on to victory, and she freed the city of Orléans from its chains. The people there adore her for it. She is their savior! She gave all men courage in a dark time. Never before was there a woman like Jeanne d'Arc, and there never will be again. She gives me hope, even now.
Sadly, Jeanne was captured by the English and burned to death! They hated and feared her, so they called her a witch! There was no act on earth more heartless and cruel. But here in the Tower, she lives again, thanks in part to her faithful knight Gilles de Rais. She is full of love and is merciful to all men, even the most vile, unforgivable of criminals.
Yours,
Gilles de Rais

Date: 2013-12-15 03:08 pm (UTC)Your book sounds like a great idea. I'd like to read it someday!
There was a man named Felix in the Tower who came here about the same time I did, but he's gone now. I think he's a hero, though. He was always there for people when they needed him most, and back home, he gave up everything he had in order to save the world... even though there were people who didn't understand what he was doing and tried to stop him, even though people treated him badly, he always did his best.
His sister, Jenna, was a hero too. She didn't understand what he was doing at first, but as soon as she did, she started to help him. She's one of the strongest people I've ever met, and she was also here for a few months, but... she's gone now, too.
There was also a boy about my age named Oz who was only here for a short time. I don't know what he did in his world, but when he was here, he was always making people smile. It takes a special type of strength to keep smiling even in a place like this, so I'd say he's a hero, too.
Thank you for taking the time to do this!
Sincerely,
Sheba

Date: 2013-12-17 11:15 am (UTC)Dear Romeo,
I think this is the right inbox
Ah, well let's see.
I think Darres and Duzell are huge heroes. Darres always tries to help everyone and he has a huge heart. There's nothing wrong with that. Duzell is a little more stand offish but he has a good intentions and he's kind to those he cares about.
I think that answers the question?

Ishtar

Date: 2013-12-20 11:26 pm (UTC)Some of the greatest heroes in this Tower are the ones who haven't done anything dazzling and famous. Instead, they've done small, necessary things to make this place into somewhere that people can really live together — like the person who knitted the things I've left you and asked me to make sure they get to children, or the people who devote themselves to quietly protecting others who can't protect themselves. Maybe their efforts are more modest, but that doesn't make them any less important or deserving of praise!
I won't mention any names, because most of those people are the kind that don't want thanks or attention for what they've done, but please make note of how important they are somewhere, okay?
If you ever need any help in the future, my room is 3-03. There are probably people you already know who can do a better job than I can, but just to be sure! I'll do the best I can.

Letter; Response
Date: 2013-12-22 11:38 am (UTC)I found a letter in my mailbox asking for heroes that I know here in the Tower, and they are Colette Brunel and Zelos Wilder. Both risked their lives to save two worlds but that's not why I consider them heroes.
Colette is a gentle soul who, although she may not look like it, has a strength greater than the most muscle-bound man. Once she makes up her mind about something, it's very hard to have her change it, and she never looks for the bad in others--only the good, which may help people see that their are more similarities than differences between people.
Zelos is a protector of children--whether he admits it willingly or not. And he's very protective of his sister. While many people who know him might think he's a little over-protective of her, to me, it's a sign that he's willing to protect others over himself.
I know other heroes, but they aren't here in the tower, but if you want to know, feel free to ask!
Sheena Fujibayashi.
PS: Please don't tell Zelos I said any of that. Thanks!
